Screenshot of Pale Moon
The Pale Moon project is the work of a single individual, using contributed Open Source code to create a full-featured, speed optimized browser based on the popular Firefox browser.
Download: Archived versions
Installation and running
Pale Moon 3.6 and older: Run the setup with XP mode.
Requirement for version 3: A processor with SSE support (Pentium III / AMD Athlon XP/MP)
Pale Moon 4 - 8 (KernelEx 4.5.2 required): Run the setup with comp. mode XP. Recently visited addresses, history and bookmarks don't work. For using bookmarks it's possible to install the PlainOldFavorites add-on. There is another add-on HyperBK with bookmark and history functionality. You have the possibility to hide the Palemoon bookmarks menu.
Requirement: A processor with SSE2 support (Pentium IV / AMD Opteron / Athlon64 / Turion64) - Supported processors details
Printing doesn't work
Use IE View / Coral IE TAB 1.85 add-ons (Firefox) which may allow printing via IE engine.
The Java plugin doesn't work with 3.6 and newer. Java works up to version 3.5 Pale Moon 3.5.8.
Pale Moon 9.x and 11.x don't work. These versions are built with Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 (msvcp100.dll & msvcr100.dll).
Workaround to run these versions: Talk Pale Moon. Requirements: KernelEx 4.5.2, a processor with SSE2 support
Pale Moon 12.x freezes after a few seconds.
Pale Moon versions 15 and higher cause an error in MSVCR100.dll and don't start.
There is no known workaround.
